US President, Symbol or Landmark Project

The children have designed flags to represent themselves and learned about George Washington (and the silly things about his teeth!)  We will be doing projects on these subjects as well to enter into the Social Studies Fair. Students at this age are not judged for the competition, but have a great time letting the school visit their work and tell all about it.

Each student will choose a past President or US Symbol/Landmark.  At home, students will build a visual aid for their board.  An example from students in the past: building a replica of the Washington Monument out of sugar cubes, building a replica of Mount Rushmore with clay or play doh, creating the American Flag out of Lego’s.

We will conduct research and create a poster board at school.  Projects are due by Monday, February 24th.
