Forest: March Newsletter

We are so excited for Spring in the Forest Room! This month we will be studying plant life cycles in our science unit and wrapping up our studies of 2 and 3D shapes in math.  We will be starting some seeds later in the month and are eager to make observations in our journal. February brought fun with the Social Studies Fair and the students really enjoyed participating.  I was blown away by the creations they made at home with each of you. Thank you so much for helping make the fair a success. I appreciate the group of parents I get to work with each day.

We hope to spend more and more time outside as the season changes.  This can mean muddy and sandy clothes and shoes. We will do our best to empty sand and dirt on the playground, but I expect spring rain will make that tricky at times.  I just like to remind parents this time of year to stick with clothes and shoes that are okay to play in.

The annual auction is quickly approaching, and I look forward to seeing all of the class art projects on display.  The auction is always a fun event and I hope to see you there for an evening of supporting the school and enjoying each other’s company.  Thank you sincerely to Anna Stout-Tuckwiller and Jennifer Orr for helping the Forest Room create artwork for the event. Your involvement helps make so many of our school events the successes that they are!

I will be in touch with dates regarding spring field trips.  As spring settles in, schedules get busy around the school. With this in mind, we will try to enjoy one or two more trips as a class before the year draws to an end.  I have really enjoyed being able to take the kids on so many outings this year. I know transportation isn’t always easy to work out - so thank you all for your continued support in the making of such a great year.  Each day in the classroom I am blown away with the leaps kids make this time of year. It is one of the greatest joys of teaching! I am looking forward to our final units of study and the time I have left with each of the kids in the classroom.

Love, Ms. Caroline
